The Boiler Upgrade Scheme will now offer £7500 grants for air source heat pumps. The grant for Biomass boilers remains at £5000. This will be available in rural areas and also where biomass replaces fossil fuel systems.

Grants are also available for ground source heat pump installations; these will be £7500. The scheme will run for a total of three years from Spring 2022 – 2025. When the scheme first launched, grants were set to £5000 for Air Source Heat Pump installations and £6000 for Ground Source Heat Pump installations. 

The new grant amount of £7500 comes into effect on 23rd October. Grants will be delivered via vouchers with installers making grant applications on behalf of customers.
